Edwards, Agnes Scott McMillan

Agnes Scott McMillan Edwards, 75, died of heart failure Saturday, May 4, 1996, at South Panola Community Hospital in Batesville.  Services were at 11:00 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with interment in the Lambert Cemetery.

Born September 3, 1920, in Lambert to the late Lee Roy and Neicy Pearson Scott, she was a housewife, the widow of Earl Carley Edwards, Sr., and a Baptist.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy McMillan and Jannie M. Paschal, both of Elko, NV; one son, John Leroy McMillan of Batesville; three sisters, Margaret Scott Long of Huntington Beach, CA, Gwendolyn Scott Bayne of Lorretto, Mexico, and Mildred Scott Jordan of Memphis; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Clydia B. Ellis, 74, a homemaker of Sledge, died Sunday, March 19, 1995, at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Tupelo after a stroke.  Services were at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Wesley United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Ms. Ellis leaves four sisters, Rosetta Edwards, Magnolia Crowder, Daisy Lee Flowers, and Lydia Ellis Leavells, and three brothers, Oscar Elis, Tommie Lee Ellis, and Garfield Ellis.

Ellis, Margaret Ruth

Margaret Ruth Ellis of Batesville, 75, died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Quitman County Hospital in Marks of heart failure.

Services were Tuesday, January 17, at Enon Baptist Church near Batesville, where she was a member, with burial in Crowder Cemetery.  The Rev. Rusty Fair officiated.  Kimbro Funeral Home of Marks had charge.

Born September 6, 1930, in Crowder, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice Ellis, and a son, Dexter Maurice Ellis, both of Batesville, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The family has asked that memorials be sent to Enon Baptist Church near Batesville.
