Dalton, James D.
PARIS: James D. Dalton, 83, of Paris passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, in Baptist Memorial Hospital‚ North Mississippi at Oxford.
An Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Dalton was retired from Big Yank Corp. in Water Valley, where he worked in the cutting department. He was a member of Paris Baptist Church and served as a Deacon there. Born in Quitman County to William B. Dalton and Katie Edwards Dalton, he was married to Lavelle Harmon Dalton.
Funeral services were held at two o’clock in the afternoon Sunday, April 2, 2006, in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Sockwell and Rev. Rick Glidewell officiating. Interment followed in Paris Cemetery with Marty Harmon, Mark Yarbrough, Scott Yarbrough, Dave Yarbrough, Eddie Harmon, Mack Thweatt, Tim Castleberry, Buck Dalton, Phil Yarbrough, and Jamie Harmon serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Dalton is survived by: his wife, Lavelle Harmon Dalton of Paris; one son, Richard “Ricky” Dalton, and, his wife, Jennifer, of Paris; and one daughter, Donna Dalton of Paris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Elton and Doyce Dalton. [Northeast Mississippi Journal]

Services for Chester Roland Dickey Sr., 85, of Belen were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11 at Belen Baptist Church with Rev. Archie England officiating and burial in Belen Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dickey died Sunday, January 8, 1995, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis of heart failure. He was a native of Yalobusha County and was born June 6, 1909. He was a retired Quitman county employee and a member of Belen Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Etoyle Collums Dickey of Belen; one daughter, Jean D. Miller of Belen; three sons, Bill Dickey of Independence, Jimmie Dickey of Horn Lake, and Chester Dickey Jr. of Pine Bluff, AR; two sisters, Bessie Davis of Texarkana, TX and Elise Cantrell of Portersville, MO; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dietzman, Margurite Brock
Margurite Brock Dietzman, 83, of Blackwood, NJ, died November 14, 1996, with Earl Funeral Home of Blackwood handling the arrangements. She was a longtime resident of Quitman County and was the owner of the beauty shop over the barber shop in Marks.
She was retired from the Vineland Development Center after 25 years of service.
Mrs. Dietzman was the widow of Edward Dietzman.

Francis Dover, 63, homemaker of Marks, died Thursday, September 11, 1997, at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale after a heart attack.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, at Kimbro Funeral Home with burial in Lambert Cemetery. She was a member of Lambert United Methodist Church. Rev. Danny Smith, the interim pastor at Crowder Baptist Church, officiated.
Mrs. Dover, the wife of Billy M. Dover, also leaves seven daughters, Sandra Nelson and Robbie Fillyaw, both of Charleston, Teresa Logan of Lambert, Caroline Pinkston of Marks, Billie Dover of Oakland, Barbara Holloway of Pope and Betty Downs of Grenada; four sons, Thomas Lee Pinkston of Pensacola, FL, Michael Paul Dover of Lambert, Mark Morales of Grenada and Johnny Dover of Quitman; two sisters, Jean Patterson of Lambert and Ruth Buntin of Charleston; two brothers, Billy Turman of Charleston and David Turman of Clarksdale; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Dover, James Wesley
James Wesley Dover, 67, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in San Simeon, CA of complications of stroke due to diabetes. Burial was at Taft Cemetery in Taft, CA.
Mr. Dover was born in Crowder and lived at Locke Station until 1955 when he moved to San Diego, CA and then retired to San Simeon, CA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim “Wesley” Dover and his mother, Birdie Mae Tutor Dover, formerly of Locke Station and Grenada.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Jackson Dover of San Simeon, CA, two sons, Jimmy Rupe of San Diego, CA and Calvin Rupe of Bull Head City, AZ; two daughters, Wanda Williams of Stacy, MN and Janet Hall of San Diego, CA; two brothers, Billy Mack Dover of Marks and Bobby Dover of Houston, TX, a sister, Betty White of Collins; and 17 grandchildren.
Draper, Margaret
Margaret Draper of Crofton, MD, formerly of Belen, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at the Crofton Convalensce Rehabilitation Center in Crofton, MD. She had cancer and other related ailments.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at the Marks Methodist Church.
Born in Memphis, TN, she married Jerry Draper and remained in Memphis before retiring to Gulf Shores, AL.
Eventually, she joined her twin sister, Mrs. Marjorie Ware, in Marks. She joined the Belen Baptist Church and played piano for Sunday services. She later joined the Marks United Methodist Church to be with her sister and played the piano there. Of her many hobbies, she was most passionate about her music.
Mrs. Draper leaves her beloved twin sister, Mrs. Marjorie Ware, of Crofton, MD; a daughter, Kathleen Furnas of Crofton, MS; two sons, Joe Michael Sullivan of Memphis and John O’Bryan of Clarksdale; four grandchildren, Melanie Miles. Tiffany Parie, Kyle Farnas and Jeremy Sullivan; and five great-grandchildren.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy, Annapolis, MS 21401.

Dumas, Maerine
Maerine Dumas, 62, of Lambert died of heart failure on Friday, October 3, 1997, at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale.
Services were at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, at Union Grove M. B. Church in Lambert with the Rev. Leon Whitehead officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Century Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Mrs. Dumas, a former employee of Panola Mills, was born in Corinth on July 16, 1935.
Survivors include her husband, Haven Dumas of Lambert; two sons, Lee Andrew Eckford and Larry Dumas of Freemont, OH; one daughter, Mary Ann Brown of Lambert; her father, William Howard of Lambert; six brothers, Henry Eckford of Muncie, IN, Ozell Eckford of Freemont, OH, Howard Eckford of Sledge, E. O. Eckford and W. H. Eckford, both of Marks, and Joe H. Eckford of Batesville; four sisters, Luestella Johnson, Dorothy Wilburn, and Josephine Johnson, all of Lambert, and Jean Alice Lane of Marks; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Fay Gabbert Dunn of Crowder, 83, a homemaker, died of heart failure Thursday, September 21, 1995, at South Panola Community Hospital in Batesville.
Services were Saturday, September 23, at 3:00 p.m. at Crowder Baptist Church with burial in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. Kimbro Funeral Home of Marks had charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Dunn was a Calhoun County native. She was a member of Crowder Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include husband, Aubrey C. Dunn, three daughters, Annette Dunn Massey of Batesville, Jane Dunn Baker of Clarksdale, and Ruth Dunn Taylor of Senatobia, seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
