Deaths

On May 28, 1918, Mary Aileen Watkins, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Watkins died.  She was 1 year, 8 months, 14 days old.

Funeral Services by W. O. Blount — (mentions devoted children, gives no names.

Clarksdale, Mississippi, May 14
Mrs. W. M. Watkins ill for 3 years.  Funeral took place family residence on School Street.  In bed 3 months.  Survived by husband and 11 year old son, W. M., Jr.  Besides these, she leaves Luther Gates, of Marks and Frank Gates of Arkansas, brothers and Mrs. Robert Samuel Hayward, Marks, a sister.  She was born in Quitman County near Belen.  She had made her home in Clarksdale for the past 11 years.

Marriages

Sara Louise Hayward married Sergeant Charles Abner, son of Mrs. Nancy Barger of Sauls, Kentucky.  The wedding was at Sanford, Florida.  Bride graduate Marks High School and Sergeant Abner is a machine gunner in Army Air Corps and stationed at Orlando, Florida.

Elizabeth Hayward became bride of Mr. Irving W. West, home of parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Samuel Hayward, December 1 — Sister, Mildred, only attendant.  Carried lace handkerchief which was carried 69 years ago by her grandmother.  Has been living in Marks since early childhood.  Groom is son of Mrs. Elizabeth West, is a machine gunner in the Air Corps stationed at Orlando, Florida.
