Mrs. James D. Buffett has returned from New York where she went to meet Captain Buffett on his arrival in that city after bringing his ship, the US transport, “General R. L. Howze”, into port at Boston after a trip to Bremerhaven, Germany, from which he returned with a shipload of displaced persons. They spent ten days in New York and while there had the pleasure of a phone talk with their son, Billy, whose ship, the “General Blatchford” had just docked at Boston for a short stay before returning to Bremerhaven. Captain Buffett is expected to arrive home the latter part of the week. He plans to make New Orleans his headquarters, having found the Boston port too far away from home.
