Hinchcliff

Robinzine Road

Hinchcliff was named for Titus Hinchcliff.  Mr. Hinchcliff was born in Arkansas and spent a large part of his life in Illinois.  He was with the Illinois Central Railroad for forty-three (43) years.  In coming to Mississippi for a deer hunt, he became interested in Delta land.  Mr. Hinchcliff bought a plantation.  The post office and railroad stop bears his name.

Mrs. Virgie Cooper Sims [Virgil Y. Cooper Sims 1879-1915] taught the first school and was the postmaster.
